Iowa State vS. Oklahoma Live stream. Lincoln Riley: Sooners’ secondary should get depth back vs. Iowa State
Oklahoma entered the season with quite a bit of depth in the secondary at both the safety and cornerback spots. But that depth has eroded during the first four games of the season as cornerbacks Jordan Parker and Jordan Thomas were injured as were safeties Will Johnson and Robert Barnes. Parker is out for the season after an injury in the season opener but against Iowa State next week, the Sooners should get some players back. Lincoln Riley said Tuesday that Thomas, who suffered an apparent ankle injury late against Baylor, was “fine” and would play against the Cyclones.
Johnson, who was hurt early in the win at Ohio State, would return for sure against Iowa State and he expected Barnes to return as well. Johnson started the first two games and was replaced by Barnes, who was injured later in that game and gave way to Kahlil Haughton. Riley said linebacker Curtis Bolton, who was also injured against Baylor, was still being evaluated, as was defensive tackle Matt Romar. Romar was injured in the win over Tulane.
According to the NCAA record book, Oklahoma running back Abdul Adams became the 11th player in Football Bowl Subdivision history with a 99-yard run. Here’s a list of all of the 99-yard runs. He arrived in Norman in fall 2016, a year after he originally planned, making stops at NEO and Oklahoma State when he didn’t get into OU immediately out of high school.
